Dog that killed newborn boy allowed to live in Pennsylvania Court decision

A husky mix named Helo was scheduled for euthanasia for a February 2012 death of a newborn baby in McKeesport, PA. The facts of the case are that the mother left the newborn on the floor of a room by the dog in a baby set. She returned to the room when she heard screaming and found her child bleeding with the dog nearby, the child died shortly after the incident. A dog behavioral expert examined the dog and determined that the dog, in his opinion, was not dangerous. The Judge presiding over the case approved an agreement between the District Attorney's office and the dog's attorney allowing the dog to live at an out-of-state sanctuary.
